Agile Phone Cards to be retired on 30 June 2007Retirement of the Agile Phone Card ServiceEffective from 30th April 2007, the Agile Phone Card service is no longer available for new customers. The Agile Post-paid phone service will continue to operate for existing customers until midnight (central standard time) 30th June 2007. HistoryIn April 2001, Agile launched a voice service that cut the cost of phone callls for 18,000 rural South Australians in the Coorong. The service has since spread into other regional areas around South Australia as well as nationally to capital cities around Australia. In April 2005 Internode (Agile's sister company) launched a new voice service called NodePhone, delivering smarter, cheaper and higher quality voice services across Australia. Reason for retiring the serviceThe success of NodePhone and the wide-spread availability of broadband services from Internode nationally means it is now time for NodePhone to take over from the Agile Phone Card system.
